Celebrated Indian designer, Anita Dongre, will be introducing her festive collection, Jaipur Bride, to the UK at Faisana: Fashion Weekend, 2 and 3 May, Mayfair Hotel, London.

Characterised by linear symmetry and embroidered geometric shapes and patterns, the collection echoes the architectural splendour and detailing of Jantar Mantar. With sensuous saris and swirling lehengas, dramatic jackets and classic salwar kameezes, palazzo pants and bandis amongst other styles, the collection is the perfect meeting ground of cultural richness and modernity. Anita has reinterpreted bridal ensembles by adding an innovative twist of geometric prints and shapes, and embellishing them with gotapatti embroidery.

South Asian fashion influencers, Aamna & Aisha and Radhika Hasan, bring to the Capital a UK exclusive at Faisana: Fashion Weekend, curating and presenting for the very first time on one international platform three of India and three of Pakistan’s most celebrated designers – Anita Dongre, Rina Dhaka and Bhairavi Jaikishan (India); and Umar Sayeed, Nida Azwer and Sania Maskatiya (Pakistan).

The two-day event at Mayfair Hotel will launch with an exclusive Champagne, Canapés and Couture evening on 2 May, 7-9.30pm in Mayfair Hotel’s Crystal Room. A free to attend, open exhibition, The Grand Trunk Show, will follow on 3 May, 12-7pm, showcasing a wide range of ready to wear and couture from the designers’ latest collections for the general public, hosted by the designers themselves. UK buyers and consumers will have first dibs on exclusive collections that will not have been seen or be available anywhere in the UK before the event.
