Leading lights of the Indian fashion landscape, Manish Malhotra and Varun Bahl, are among the curated collective of top tier designers to be presenting their latest bridal and couture collections at Aashni + Co Wedding Show in association with Zouch & Lamare. Taking place at Ballroom Suite, The Dorchester, 53 Park Lane, Mayfair, London W1K 1QA on 25 January 2015, Aashni + Co Wedding Show will mark the UK’s most high fashion Indian bridal exhibition, hosted in association with Zouch & Lamare – one of the leading, luxury wedding planning services in the UK that specialises in exquisite, original and bespoke weddings and events. Aashni + Co Wedding Show will also feature floral styling by Zita Elze, an award-winning artist, designer, teacher, creator of the Living Embroidery Bridal collection and design consultant, who will also be exhibiting as the show’s exclusive luxury florist.

Manish Malhotra’s creativity and genius span the broad spheres of Bollywood design, Styling, Diffusion and the Everlasting Bridal and Couture. Manish is a pioneer in the field of fashion in India today and renowned globally. His diffusion label 'Manish Malhotra has become a success since its launch in 2004 and has proved once again why he is the country’s favourite when it comes to dressing India’s most beautiful and glamorous.  Manish, known for his bridal wear and immaculate colour sense, has designed for some of the most striking personalities in the Indian film industry, high profile politicians, industrialists, top global corporates and affluent families across the globe.  He has also been felicitated by National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi and the Indo American Society for his contribution to fashion designing.  He was also presented the Rajiv Gandhi Award by the Mumbai Pradesh Youth Congress 2002 for his contribution to fashion in India.

Varun Bahl is a true artist and couturier in the Indian fashion industry. Best known for his expertise in blending the classic with the contemporary and the antique with the innovative, his work is a reflection of elegance, avant-garde, non-conformist yet rooted in classics. The belief of the label is to pave the way for couture to be embraced as part of one’s daily wardrobe with the generous use of exotic motifs and rich luminous tones, reflecting luxe glamour that makes a statement. Varun Bahl has an extremely loyal client base comprising Bollywood celebrities, known personalities from different walks of life, fashionista’s and fashion critics alike. He also has a commercially successful menswear prêt label with acclaimed filmmaker Karan Johar called Karan Johar + Varun Bahl since 2010.

About Aashni Shah, Founder and Creative Director, Aashni + Co

For 29-year-old Aashni Shah, opening a luxury, multidesigner boutique stocking a cocktail of the choicest Indian designers and couture in London’s quaint Notting Hill wasn’t part of Plan A. An erstwhile editor for commercials and Assistant Director for feature films, the London-based, Bombay-born entrepreneur’s life initially revolved around the magic of the cinematic experience. So much so that she moved to London to study filmmaking at The National Film and Television School and MET Film school at the age of 22. Little did she know, she was soon to be drawn into a different line of work, albeit one that would be just as aesthetically satisfying. 

During her stay in the British capital, Shah recognised a huge void of access to Indian design outside of India. Her intrinsic interest for curating and creating kicked in and were quickly channelled into building Aashni + Co, a vehicle to introduce a wealth of Indian fashion talent to London. An inherent passion for fashion, varied roles as a creative collaborator, interactions with likeminded people since the age of 18, culturally rich formative years in India as well as travel experiences have all played a vital role in writing Shah’s success story. Ever since it’s inception in 2012, Aashni + Co has carved a niche for itself as one of London’s most sought after destinations for luxury Indian fashion, garnering attention from fashionistas and celebrities in the UK and Continental Europe alike.
