Aishwarya will get special invite to Cannes Film Festival

From the onset, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has always been synonymous with the Cannes Film Festival. Ever since she attended for the screening of Devdas in 2004, Rai Bachchan has attended the prestigious film festival every year, and this year will be no different.​ Apparently, The French government will specially invite the actress actress for the festival scheduled later this year which will also celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema, a senior diplomat has said. 

Responding to a question, French Ambassador to India Francois Richier told reporters  yesterday that Rai Bachchan has always been respected in France because of her association with the Cannes Film F estival.

"She is very dear to our heart and we are very grateful to her," said Richier (the French Ambassador).

"The Cannes festival will have a special focus on Indian Cinema where we will invite Indian film stars," the Ambassador said, adding that the actress would also be invited.

The Cannes International Film Festival an annual film festival held in Cannes, France. The festival previews new films of all genres, including documentaries, from around the world.
