More on the 'Man of Steel' sequel feat. Batman and Superman

The big news at this week's Comic Con was the announcement of the Man of Steel sequel and the fact that it would see Superman feature alongside Batman. While Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne will all return to reprise their roles, what isn't clear is which actor will play the Dark Knight.

Christian Bale has apparently slammed all reports of returning to the role which leaves at least one immediate candidate – Joeseph Gordon Levitt. I would love to see Levitt take up the role – he's gifted and talented and could do justice to the part. Besides, The Dark Knight Rises hints at him donning the cape anyway so it would be a relatively smooth transition.

Besides the iconic logo that was unveiled, further details on the plot emerged too. It's clear that Warner Bros are paving the way for a long awaited Justice League movie, and they're planning to kickstart the franchise with this anticipated sequel by pitting the two crime fighters against each other. The film is partially inspired by the World's Finest comics and Frank Miller'sThe Dark Knight Returns

Zack Snyder returns to direct and this is what he has to say:

"It’s official that we are going to make another Superman movie. And you say, Zack, what is the movie about? But you don’t want me to tell you that. You want to go and see the movie. But I can say that maybe there’s a single element that will be in the film that I could… help you out with. I was thinking about how to do that. I pored through the DC Universe to look for a way to tell this thing. We’re writing the thing now, but I came across a thing I found that’ll help you understand it."

The coming together of the two superheroes could mean big bucks at the box office
