The Shahenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan, returns to delight audiences of all ages as he returns to the silver screen in a lead role as his much loved, paranormal avatar makes a comeback when Bhootnath Returns, releasing in cinemas worldwide on 11 April 2014, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kishan Kumar, Renu Ravi Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan, and distributed internationally by B4U.

After the unprecedented success of the prequel, Indian cinema’s older generation once again goes head to head with the younger as the legendary Amitabh Bachchan welcomes mischievously charming child artist, Parth Bhalerao. Screen magic is created when the two characters collide in Bhoothnath Returns – a delightful, ghoulish comedy drama, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, which will appeal to kids and adults alike.

Comedy kingpin, Boman Irani, plays a pivotal, supporting role in Bhoothnath Returns – a must-see for cinemagoers to witness the formidable on screen interaction between the Shahenshah and the Joker. Indulging audiences further, special appearances come courtesy of none other than superstars, King Khan Shahrukh Khan and poster pin-up Ranbir Kapoor. Meet Bros Anjjan and Palash Muchhal have created a suitably playful and spine-tingling soundtrack, with a phenomenal buzz already generated around the track, 'Party with the Bhootnath', featuring sensational music artist Yo Yo Honey Singh rapping alongside the Godfather of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan.

Synopsis:
Bhoothnath Returns takes Bhoothnath’s story forward as the paranormal character returns to ‘Bhoot World’, where he is greeted with taunts and condemnation from the other ghosts for bringing disrepute to the ghost-community for getting bullied by a kid on Earth.

Post the humiliation, Bhoothnath (Amitabh Bachchan) decides to redeem himself by returning to Earth to seek vengeance by scaring a bunch of kids. His search leads him to Akhrot (Parth Bhalerao), a kid from the slums who happens to be the only person who can see him. They agree to help each other but their friendship embroils them in a cause bigger than they had ever imagined. To move ahead, they will need to take on one of the country’s most powerful and corrupt politicians, Bhau (Boman Irani). The Lok Sabha elections are nearing and Bhau’s victory is a mere formality, or is it? In a world where the common man is afraid of politics, will a common man’s ghost overcome his fear to stand up for what’s right and fight against injustice? Bhoothnath Returns is an entertaining tale of good against evil, weak against powerful, past against future.

Further Bhoothnath Returns Tidbits

Amitabh Bachchan's support for child artist, Parth Bhalerao, on the sets of Bhoothnath Returns

Very few luminaries in today's time have the humility and compassion to extend their time for the sake of others. One such example is superstar, Amitabh Bachchan, who spent a considerable amount of time interacting with child actor, Parth Bhalerao, aka Akhrot of Bhoothnath Returns, before the shoot. Not only did they get along extremely well, but the acting legend made him feel so comfortable that Parth gave his best during the shoot.

Mr. Bachchan would constantly call him 'Champion', support and guide him. In fact, the silver screen veteran was so used to calling Parth 'Champion' to motivate the youngster that in one of the dialogues, he subconsciously slipped the word in during one of the scenes. The director gladly used the lines as it truly reflected the chemistry the duo shares, onscreen as well as off screen. Mr Bachchan would often cheer the junior up too when Parth, who hails from Pune, felt homesick for his friends and family.

Yo Yo Honey Singh raps for Amitabh Bachchan

After delivering globally popular tracks such as 'Lungi Dance' and 'Sunny Sunny', singer-composer Yo Yo Honey Singh has teamed up with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan in Bhoothnath Returns for the song, 'Party With Bhoothnath'.

Shot on a grand scale at a resort in Panvel, the location was converted into Bhoothworld for the video shoot of ‘Party With Bhoothnath’. The set was transformed into a spooky yet elegant bhoot bangla. Members of the unit described how the interiors of the palace were specially painted well in advance, as the walls required a shiny, gold hue. Mr Bachchan can be seen in a casual avatar in track pants and chunky chains, grooving along with Yo Yo Honey Singh and joined by child artist Parth Bhalerao. With no expense spared on production, the song explains the theme of the film and creates magic onscreen.

Shah Rukh Khan finds Amitabh Bachchan's Bhoothnath Returns endearing

Screen icon, Amitabh Bachchan, took to a micro-blogging site to thank Shah Rukh Khan for his 'gracious' gesture of making a special appearance in his forthcoming film, Bhoothnath Returns. He posted, ''Thank you Shah Rukh for being a part of 'Bhoothnath Returns' and taking time out to shoot with us... ever gracious!''

Shah Rukh Khan, who also had a cameo in the earlier Bhoothnath (2008), returned the gesture on the site and expressed, ''@SrBachchan the pleasure was all mine sir. Film looks endearing & hard worked at. All the best to the whole team especially the Chopras.''

Amitabh Bachchan's scooter ride into work

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is known for experimenting with his roles and the actor turned up on the sets of Bhoothnath Returns on an automated scooter. The shot was being filmed at a real location in Versova, Mumbai and due to the on-going construction work there, the roads were blocked and Mr Bachchan's vanity van and car couldn't access the area. Since it was a really long walk to the sets, the actor came up with the idea of riding the scooter to beat the traffic.

Confirming this, director Nitesh Tiwari said, "There was a lot of digging and construction work going on at the Versova location and it was quite a long walk from the parking to the sets. Rather than troubling us or delaying time, Mr. Bachchan came onto the sets on a unique scooter and would zip around in it the whole day! He seemed to be enjoying himself thoroughly and it was quite a nice sight for us too."

Prepare for screen magic when Amitabh Bachchan illumines screens and takes audiences on a gripping, ghost ride when Bhootnath Returns, releasing on 11 April 2014, distributed internationally by B4U.
