Cruise on board for 'Mission Impossible 5'
The Mission: Impossible series is the 13th highest grossing film series of all time with over $2 billion worth of worldwide gross, which is why it’s no surprise that Tom Cruise is keen to reprise his role as IMF agent Ethan Hunt, in a fifth installment.
Deadline reports that Cruise has signed a deal to star and produce in the next installment of the franchise and that the film will be helmed by Christopher McQuarrie, the director of Jack Reacher, although no official announcement has been made as of yet.
“I started Mission Impossible hoping I could make many of them. It’s a character that I can grow with,” said Cruise to Total Film.
"At that time it was the most expensive film in the history of Paramount Pictures, and the first film I was producing."
He added: "It’s been pretty exciting. Seeing an audience respond… to have that experience is really wonderful. I’ll make a bunch of those.
"I’ll make as many as people want to see…because they’re very challenging, and so much fun to make."
